Always dine here as the food is superb & the staff very professional. Came at 4.15 pm & ordered off the Dinner Special. My daughter had garlic mushrooms & I had egg mayonnaise to start. Ploughman's portions of wonderful, fresh food. Steak for mains: done to perfection, one rare, one medium. Served with mushrooms, saute onions, chips, carrots & peas. Huge platefuls of mouth-watering fare!!! Lemon cheesecake to die for & lovely light apple crumble. REAL tea, no tea-bags here. Smiling waitress. Nothing too much trouble, tho she was on her own for almost the entire time we were there. Dealt very well with screaming, spoiled, horrid child, who should have been......at home!!! He kept shouting & demanding all sorts. Parents NEVER checked him.....probably don't at home either by the look of things. Lovely room too. Top marks GBC!!!

BISTRO With a distinctive Old Galway shop-front façade, this building is two eateries in one: a ground-level self-service coffeeshop and a full-service bistro upstairs. The restaurant menu lists a variety of dishes, priced to suit every budget, from steaks and seafood dishes to chicken kiev or cordon bleu, as well as quiches, omelettes, salads, and stir-fried vegetable platters. Baked goods, particularly and homemade brown bread, are an added attraction. The coffeeshop serves memorably good breakfast and light lunches. Frommers Ireland
This place is two eateries in one: The ground-level coffee shop is cheap and cheerful, with steaming fresh coffee and melt-in-your-mouth pastries, while upstairs is a bistro offering quiches, omelettes, salads and stir-fried veggies. The coffee shop gets packed at peak breakfast and lunch times.MTV Europe Guide

When you see a cafe or restaurant full of locals you know it is the best possible place you can go to eat and it is always full of locals and tourists alike here and it never fails to tempt the taste buds. Prices are very reasonable too and service is excellent. What more could you ask for in the heart of a city like Galway. Margaret would recommend. Margaret would use again
